Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines. By submitting a text, you are thereby declaring it to be an original scientific article.
  • The author declares that the material submitted has not been previously published, and is not currently under consideration for publication, elsewhere. (The Editors should also be explicitly informed of any other complicating issues, such as the public release of pre-publication drafts).

  • With the exception of the introductory page for monitoring the submission (Strona Przewodnia), all materials are to be created anonymously:

  • All sources are properly cited, both in the text and in the separate bibliography; where possible, URL links are also provided. Sources of funding are explicitly acknowledged where necessary (e.g. in footnotes, acknowledgements/thanks, etc.).

  • Files should be in the following digital file formats: DOC, DOCX, ODT, RTF, TXT, TEX, and BIB (UTF-8), and for graphics (300-600dpi), JPG, PNG, and EPS. Font type and font size should remain constant throughout the text (12pt, 1.5 line spacing); no underlining or inessential adjustments; figures and tables should be properly described and signed, and correctly located, with no text run-around.

  • The Author accepts that in cases where a non-standard digital format is used, (such as fails to convert correctly in the sense associated with XeLaTeX), a request may be issued for a paper printout and/or PDF file to be supplied.

  • The Author realizes that any scholarly impropriety risks exposing them to possible responses from the relevant institutional authorities.

Author Guidelines

Prior to sending material to the Yearbook, the Author will first become acquainted with the section entitled [About], and then prepare their submission in accordance with the following requirements:

  • In cases of co-authorship, the Editors will treat the first author listed as the Author, with subsequently listed authors regarded as Co-Authors. Only the Author should be in contact with the Editors, acting on behalf of the entire group.
  • The following materials should be posted on the introductory page for monitoring the submission (Strona Przewodnia): title, author’s note (with current affiliation, postal address and e-mail), word-count and total number of signs in the text, accompanying statements along the lines of “Original work carried out in the context of...” (one’s own research into #, activities performed in fulfilment of one’s statutory obligations connected with #, financed by #), a statement outlining the respective contributions made by the Author and each of the Co-Authors, a declaration that there are no conflicts of interest, and any other information that may be required by the Editors. The Author(s) should only be identified on the actual introductory page for monitoring the submission (Strona Przewodnia). On the next page, the title should be repeated, and a summary and keywords should be placed there – this information being given both in Polish and in English, and not exceeding 200 words in each language. Failure to fulfil the above requirements will entitle the Editors to alter the text where necessary (for review purposes) in order to conceal the identity of the Author(s).
  • The Editors prepare material using the systems [XeLaTeX i BibLaTeX] (see the section [XeLaTeX]). It is possible to employ this system oneself, or leave it to the Editors to make the conversion.
  • Although submitting authors need not provide information about referenced sources in a separate BIB database file (e.g. [Jabref]), they must always specify the appropriate field for any fuller listing, reflecting the type of source: e.g. [article] [book] [in book] etc. (See the section [XeLaTeX]).
  • The Author accepts the regulations set out in the [examples].

The Editors reserve the right to make alterations to text and graphics, adjust titles, and enhance bibliographic referencing, when required. In the event of a text exceeding 40000 signs, where this renders its publication in a single edition problematic, an additional editorial directive may be issued, requiring that the material in question be broken up, that publication be postponed to a later date, etc.
