Call for Papers for Volume 34 of Rocznik Filozoficzny Ignatianum (1/2027)

Korean Studies is currently one of the most dynamic fields within Asian Studies. It encompasses a broad range of topics related to the history, politics, culture, language, and international relations of the Korean Peninsula, reflecting the region's growing significance in contemporary global politics and culture. This dynamic development requires sustained, rigorous, and in-depth scholarly engagement with the subject.

The Department of Korea SEED Program for Korean Studies at the Jagiellonian University invites scholars and researchers to contribute to a Korean Volume of “The Ignatianum Philosophical Yearbook”, scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2027.

The suggested topics of papers could be as follows, but not limited to:

  • Korean history: pre-modern, modern, and contemporary times,
  • Korean political systems and international relations,
  • Korean cultural traditions and contemporary cultural phenomena,
  • Korean language, literature, and linguistics,
  • Korean society and transformations,
  • Korean economy and development,
  • Korean Diaspora,
  • Korean popular culture and media studies,
  • Korea in a comparative approach.
Information For Authors:
  1. Please send the finished texts to the Editor's e-mail address, attaching a Word file (.doc or .docx). The article should not exceed the limits of half to one publishing sheet (20-40 thousand characters, including spaces). The article must include an Abstract in Polish and English (up to 2 thousand characters with spaces. Note: Translation of an abstract and keywords from English to Polish will be provided for non-Polish speakers). The Abstract should include the following elements:
    a) the purpose of the article
    b) the characteristics of the source material and literature
    c) the characteristics of the research method
    d) the main thesis and conclusions
    The text must be accompanied by keywords (5-7) in Polish and English.
  2. Illustrations, tables, text fragments, etc.: the Authors should provide written consent of the copyright owner. The Authors are obliged to specify the format of any illustrative material in advance before submitting the text to the Editors.
  3. The text should be formatted according to the general principles: Times New Roman 12; 1.5 line spacing; Margins of 2.5 cm; Footnotes: Times New Roman 10, single space. Please include Information on Romanisation in the first footnote.
