Statutes of St. Adalbert Hospital in Opole as the Foundation of the Institution’s Activities
Abstract
The functioning of any institution, regardless of its scope of activity, is rooted in legal foundations. These include both general laws issued by higher authorities and internal regulations that govern the specific operations of the institution. Such internal regulations are often formalized through statutes and guidelines. The statutes of St. Adalbert’s Hospital in Opole were drafted by its Board of Trustees and are particularly significant. They pertain to the city’s oldest healthcare facility, which operated under the curatorship of the Catholic parish during the 19th and mid-20th centuries. These statutes are noteworthy as they are among the few preserved documents detailing the principles of patient admission and treatment at the hospital. The statutes, published as a booklet by the Raabe printing house in Opole, are believed to have originally been created as a manuscript. Unfortunately, the original manuscript has not survived among the archival materials stored in the State Archives in Opole.

The Yearbook only accepts materials for publication that are free of all conflicts of interest, and that in no way involve conflicts over authorship, copyright, etc. The Editors will take action against any cases of plagiarizing, ghostwriting1, guest/honorary authorship2, etc. Where co-authored work is concerned, the Author listed first is expected to take responsibility for the submission, and is required to make clear the contributions of all of the Co-Authors involved. In the event of the publication owing its existence to funding dedicated to this purpose, this fact should be made clear: e.g. in any note of thanks/acknowledgement, or in a footnote, etc. Explicit notification should be given of any form of reprinting, with the appropriate evidence of permission to publish being furnished as required. Any impropriety on the part of Authors/Reviewers risks exposing them to appropriate responses from the relevant institutions.
