Abstract

Among the remnants of archival materials from the Jesuit monastery and college that operated in Nysa for nearly 150 years, there is a noteworthy collection connected to the history of theater in Silesia. This collection includes a manuscript book containing scripts of plays performed by the students of the college. This article provides an introduction to the historical context in which the document was created and explores its significance for the study of Silesian and broader European cultural history.
