"Back to the Sources: Archives in Research on the History of Silesia—The 70th Anniversary of the State Archive in Opole"
Call for papers to Issue 30 of Ignatianum Philosophical Yearbook (4/2024)
Archival materials are an invaluable source of knowledge about the political, social, and economic processes that have shaped the region now known as Poland over the centuries. Many of these materials, often overlooked by researchers outside the field of history, are stored in state archives.
The 70th anniversary of the State Archive in Opole in 2023 presents an opportunity to highlight intriguing archival materials from its collection. The insights gained from a critical analysis of these sources, along with the resulting research, can serve as a foundation for further scholarly work, particularly for those interested in the history and culture of Upper Silesia.
The editors of the Ignatianum Philosophical Yearbook invite experts in Silesian history and researchers specializing in archival sources to contribute texts related to this theme. We also welcome studies on topics that have not yet been extensively explored.
We look forward to receiving your submissions!
