Abstract
Właściwie każde pokolenie historiografii czeskiej posiada swoją wersję opracowania o Janie Žižce. W nowoczesnych badaniach można je liczyć od pracy Václava Vladivoja Tomka z 1879 r., przez potężne dzieło Josefa Pekařa z l. 1927–1933 czy powojenne Františka Šmahela pisane w okresie praskiej wiosny z 1969 r. Większość z nich doczekała się wznowień już w XXI w., ale dla szerokiej polskiej publiczności pozostają niedostępne. Wprowadzona niedawno do czytelniczego obiegu w języku polskim przez PIW biografia Jana Žižki autorstwa Petra Čorneja jest tłumaczeniem z języka czeskiego jednej z najważniejszych dla dziejów husytyzmu pozycji ostatnich lat. W 2019 roku wydawnictwo Paseka opublikowało książkę pt. Jan Žižka. Życie i czasy husyckiego wojownika. Paseka jest znane z publikacji specjalistycznych książek historycznych, z istotnym miejscem poświęconym średniowieczu i ruchowi husyckiemu, co sprawia, że ich wydania są cenione przez miłośników historii tej epoki.
