Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including generative AI systems, must be clearly disclosed in the manuscript.
AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of a publication. Authorship implies intellectual contribution, responsibility and accountability, which can only be attributed to human authors.
AI may be used only as a supportive tool, for example for language editing, grammar correction or improving the clarity of the text. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, originality and scientific quality of the manuscript, including any content generated with the assistance of AI.
AI tools must not be used to generate or fabricate research data, analyses or references without appropriate verification by the authors.
Failure to disclose the use of AI tools or misuse of such technologies may result in rejection of the manuscript or other editorial actions.
Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Manuscript Preparation
The journal recognizes that artificial intelligence (AI) tools may assist in the preparation of scholarly manuscripts. In order to maintain transparency and research integrity, the following principles apply.
Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. Authorship implies responsibility, accountability and intellectual contribution that cannot be attributed to AI systems.
Authors must disclose the use of AI tools in the preparation of their manuscript. The disclosure should be included in an appropriate section of the manuscript (e.g., Methods, Acknowledgements).
Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscript, including any text, analysis or material generated with the assistance of AI technologies.
AI tools may be used for limited purposes such as:
AI tools must not be used to:
If undisclosed or inappropriate use of AI tools is identified during the editorial or peer review process, the manuscript may be rejected or the article may be retracted.
Reviewers must treat all materials received for review as confidential documents. Reviewers should not upload manuscripts or any part of them to artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including generative AI systems, as this may compromise the confidentiality of the submitted work.
AI tools may be used only for limited purposes that do not involve sharing the manuscript content (for example, improving the language of the review report). Reviewers remain fully responsible for the content, quality and fairness of their evaluation.
Under no circumstances may AI systems be used to generate a peer review report without the intellectual involvement of the reviewer.
