History of the Journal

Multidisciplinary Journal of School Education was founded in 2012. The initial title of the journal was Journal of Preschool and Elementary School Education. In 2015, with a focus on the journal’s further development, its academic profile and the needs of the academic community, a decision was taken to change the title to Multidisciplinary Journal of School Education. The name change reflected the expanding thematic scope of the published articles and the interdisciplinary nature of the research topics addressed. Above all, this change was an expression of the journal’s aim to open up to a wider group of authors and readers representing various scientific disciplines related to education, thereby incorporating them into the academic discourse. The editorial team’s intention was to create a space conducive to the exchange of research findings, practical experiences and theoretical reflections in the broadly understood field of education. The change of title was also intended to increase the journal’s international recognition and to encourage collaboration amongst researchers working on various aspects of school functioning, educational processes, upbringing and human development. Since 2016, the journal has been published under the title Multidisciplinary Journal of School Education, consistently carrying out its mission to integrate the academic community and support interdisciplinary dialogue on education. The journal is currently co-edited by the Ignatianum University in Kraków and Abat Oliba CEU University in Barcelona. The journal is published biannually (two issues per year: June and December). From 2025, it will be published exclusively in electronic form.
