PhD in Philosophy, MA in Law, he is professor of philosophy and theology of history and associate member of the Faculty of Greek-Catholic Theology of the “Babes-Bolyai” University of Cluj in Transylvania. He is visiting professor at the San Zeno Theological Studio in Verona, affiliated to the Theological Faculty of Triveneto (Padua). He collaborates with the Faculty of Roman-Catholic Theology of the University of Bucharest. Former invited professor at the Pontifical Athenaeum of St. Anselm in Rome. He has held seminars at the Universities of Trento, Trieste, Genoa, Verona, Ferrara, Cattolica di Brescia, Bergamo, Statale Milano, IULM Milano.

His scientific interests are focused on these areas: 1) History of Ideas, 2) Philosophy of History, 3) Political Philosophy and Theology, 4) Anthropology, 5) Cultural factors in international and religious relations, 6) History and representation of the collective identities, 7) Ethnohistory.

He is full member of the Academy of Agriculture, Sciences and Letters of Verona (he is Assessor of the Humanities Class), of the Virgiliana National Academy of Mantua, corresponding member of the Roveretana degli Agiati Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts, honorary member of the Institute of History “Nicolae Iorga” of the Romanian Academy in Bucharest. Member of the Eric-Voegelin-Gesellschaft (München).

Professional journalist since March 2000, he was member of the editorial board of the Italian Jesuit magazine “Aggiornamenti Sociali”. He collaborated with “Limes. Rivista italiana di geopolitica”. He is member of the editorial board of “Heliopolis. Culture Civiltà politica”, of the editorial board of “Studia. Theologia Catholica” (Babeş-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca); of the editorial board of the journal “Studia Hebraica” (University of Bucharest); member of the scientific committee of “Kadmos. Studia”, Journal for Central European studies; member of the scientific committee of the journal “Perspektywy Kultury / Perspectives on Culture” (Ignatianum University, Krakow); member of the editorial board of “Nature Anthropology” (Shanghai Society of Anthropology, China). 2013-2015: he was deputy editor in chief of the journal “Anuac. Rivista dell’Associazione Nazionale Universitaria   degli Antropologi Culturali/ National Academic Association of Cultural Anthropologists”. 

From 2006 to 2010 he was the Director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Bucharest and cultural attaché of the Italian Embassy in Romania.

2010: Diploma “Meritul Academic” of the Romanian Academy (Bucharest) 

2008: PhD honoris causa in History of the “1° Decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia (Romania)

In 2016 the Holy See awarded him the title of Commander of the Order of Saint Gregory the Great.
