About the Journal
Perspectives on Culture is a regularly appearing quarterly issued since 2009 by the Jesuit University Ignatianum in Cracow. In 2019, the journal was awarded a grant under the program Support for 500 scientific journals from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. It is included in the Ministry’s list of scientific journals of 31 July 2019 where it is assigned 20 points.
The subject area of the journal involves widely understood culture studies in terms of the theory and philosophy of culture, new trends in the field of culture and religious studies, on top of issues involving cultural history, literary studies and media studies, on top of research on the management of culture. The aim of the quarterly is to disseminate the results of research in diverse areas of culture studies conducted in Poland and Europe.
The magazine cooperates with research centers in the country and abroad in order to raise its prestige and make it more international. The articles are published in Polish and in congress languages, but in the last two years texts in English have become predominant.
Each issue has a specific theme (i.e. Issue topic), presenting theoretical and empirical texts. Articles related to a proposed topic of the upcoming issue have priority. In addition, the quarterly has following permanent sections:
- Zarządzanie międzykulturowe (Cross-cultural Management)
- Europejskie dziedzictwo duchowe (European Spiritual Heritage)
- Przestrzenie cyberkultury (Areas of Cyberculture)
- Varia
- Inne (Others)
The Varia section contains various texts from the fields of cultural, literary and historical studies. The Others section accepts reviews, reports, opinions, discussions and other non-conventional forms which are not (scored) scientific articles.
