Leisure of Preschoolers from a Multicultural Families
Abstract
In recent decades, the number of long-lasting intercultural relationships increases greatly, and with them the occurrence of the number of children from multicultural families. The author describes the leisure of preschoolers from multicultural families. She also analyses her own research, which aims to investigate how children from mixed families are spend their free time and if leisure activities are related to national culture of them mothers and fathers. An attempt was made to determine what elements of different cultures use the children at their leisure. The collected material research and studies allow to formulate the following findings: Children mostly spend their free time with their parents. Increasingly, preschool spend their free time in front of the computer or TV. Forms leisure activities of children from multicultural families are no different than forms leisure activities of children from Polish families. Children, by far the most, during their staying in the house indulge in play, in addition form (eg. paint, draw, sticky plasticine), watching TV, parents assist in activities (eg. cooking, washing, ironing) and use a computer or laptop. The main form of children’s leisure activities outside the home is play. Other forms include physically active leisure time activities (eg. walking, roller ball, bicycle), visits to other children in their homes, participation in extra-curricular activities and participation in religious events (ceremonies, celebrations).The vast majority of multicultural families is trying to put in their child’s free time elements of both cultures, both father and mother.References

The licence is granted from the moment of the transfer of the Work to the Ignatianum University in Cracow. The Ignatianum University in Cracow is entitled to grant further sub-licences to the Work within the scope of the right granted. The licence is time-limited and it is granted for a period of 15 years, starting from the date of its granting.
